October 26, 2008

We have had a busy month. McKayla has enjoyed volleyball and has really improved her game. Marissa ran for class representative and won! This will be her first leadership experience.
We miss having Caleb, Sara, and Chris around. Things are a lot quieter around here now but we are looking forward to the holiday season when we get to see them again. We won't have Janessa and Craig or Tecia and Tyson for Christmas this year--it is their turn to visit their husbands families. We are grateful that it is our year to get to keep Krista and Riley and kids here though.

My Relief Society big events are over and we are ready to enjoy the holiday season. Kris has been busy painting two of the bedrooms. Marissa has moved into Caleb's old room and it is now a pretty shade of purple. Her old room is now a game room--complete with the playstation, TV, and games. There is lots of room in there to enjoy Rock Band, or Wii Fit that we would like to get for Christmas. We have rearranged furniture in all upstairs bedrooms--I think we will leave things alone for awhile now. There is still plenty of room for any returning kids to sleep.

Kris's new store is doing really well--so busy that there is not enough parking. He has been working very long hours but still has his two days off (mostly--does 1-2 hours of work on those days). He has three days off around Thanksgiving--that will be a nice break.

I just went to "Time Out for Women" with Krista, Barbara Munoz, and Amber (her daughter). It was a lot of fun--very encouraging speakers on the subject of having more joy in your lives. I can't complain--I am very content and happy with my wonderful family and situation.
